WomenStrong Welcomes New Climate & Environmental Justice Grantees

Women and girls face inequities in education, healthcare, employment, and safety — gaps worsened by climate change. Extreme weather, forced migration, pollution, and resource loss hit women and girls the hardest, deepening existing injustice.
For 10 years, WomenStrong has partnered with fearless, women-led organizations that tackle these challenges head on. In 2024, we expanded our focus areas to support grassroots solutions at the intersections of climate change and women’s rights, recognizing that climate justice is essential to gender equity.
We are thrilled to announce five new WomenStrong grantees working at the forefront of climate and environmental justice.
Our Partners
WomenStrong selects grantees led by and serving women and girls in their communities.
In response to our open call in November 2024, we received an unprecedented 5,000+ applications. After a rigorous selection process, we are excited to welcome five outstanding organizations into our community. Each will receive two years of trust-based funding, tailored organizational support, and an opportunity to engage in peer-to-peer learning in our Learning Lab, together with our global network of 19 additional grantees.
Our five new partners address climate justice through innovative approaches, from combating child marriage in climate-affected areas to preparing young women for green-sector jobs. Our partners also share a commitment to working with youth and exploring the long-term effects of climate change on job prospects, sexual and reproductive health, and security. This intersectionality has essential benefits for all WomenStrong’s grantee partners.
