Sahar Education partners with grassroots, locally-based organizations to create educational opportunities and safe learning spaces for girls and women in Afghanistan, empowering and inspiring children and their families to build peaceful, thriving communities. After the Taliban banned formal education for girls above 6th grade, Sahar Education is finding innovative ways to promote girls’ access to education in Afghanistan, such as clandestine classes for young women on IT and digital skills, English language, literacy, tailoring, and health education.

Sahar Education aims to help young girls achieve the autonomy to become resilient female leaders and offers comprehensive women’s empowerment programs. The organization educates men and boys on women’s and human rights in order to develop allies for women in the community and to create long-term positive impact in the region.
