Society for Labour and Development (SLD), established in 2006, is a labor rights organization based in Delhi. SLD primarily addresses the rights and aspirations of workers in seven Indian states to better the lives of millions, working towards their economic security and better opportunities, with an emphasis on supporting women workers.
SLD focuses on the thematic areas of labor education, gender-based violence, interstate migrant workers’ rights, global production network in the garment, leather, and seafood processing industries, legal aid, and it conducts action research. SLD seeks to create a society of empowered, self-reliant workers.
