Hannah Barrueta Sacksteder
Hannah Barrueta Sacksteder serves as the Program and Equity Manager at WomenStrong International. Her commitment to advancing women’s and girls’ social and economic rights is reflected in her work as a key member of the Learning Lab team. Hannah supports the management and organization of the Learning Lab activities and community. Additionally, Hannah works to ensure that diversity, inclusion, and equity are present within all WomenStrong and Learning Lab activities.
Having grown up in Mexico and France, Hannah is fluent in Spanish and French. Her experiences working or studying in Cuba, Ethiopia, Japan, Canada, and in various parts of the U.S. have been critical to developing Hannah’s global skill set. As a Monitoring & Evaluation consultant for a school in Nairobi, Kenya, Hannah worked with local stakeholders to prepare grant proposals for the school’s development. Hannah served as a Program Coordinator at Common River: School and Community Center in the village of Aleta Wondo, in Ethiopia’s Sidama Zone, where she implemented activities aimed at bolstering the success of the young girls and women in the community. She also has experience working at The Carter Center, The United Nations Foundation, and The New School’s International Field Program.
Hannah has a Master’s in International Affairs, focusing on government and rights, from The New School. She graduated from Antioch College with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Political Economy and a minor in Japanese.
