Dr. Joyce Malombe
Dr. Joyce Malombe is the Founder of the Collective Rising Leadership Institute, which aims to reimagine African models of leadership development and community building and strengthening in support of future change that truly serves everyone. She brings to this new endeavor more than 25 years of experience from academic settings, global development, and philanthropy.
Prior to her work with the Collective Rising Leadership Institute, Joyce served as the Program Director for the International Children’s Education program at Wellspring Philanthropic Fund. In this capacity, she helped create the Regional Education Learning Initiative (RELI) Africa, an evidenced-focused, collaborative learning initiative of more than 70 civil society organizations work to improve learning outcomes of marginalized children in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. She continues to serve as a Senior Advisor to this network.
Joyce has also held the following positions: Program Officer for Education at ELMA Philanthropies; Director of Africa and Middle East and Coordinator for Leadership and Social Justice with the Ford Foundation International Fellowships program; Senior Scientist at The World Bank; and Associate Professor and Senior Researcher at the Southern New Hampshire University and the University of Nairobi.
Joyce received a BA and MA from the University of Nairobi and a PhD from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. In May 2023, Joyce became Integral Master Coach™, with Integral Coaching Canada.
